Jazz at Lincoln Center joins Sesame Street’s Milestone 50th Anniversary with First-Ever Performance featuring the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and Iconic Sesame Street Characters in Rose Theater

This fall, Jazz at Lincoln Center will welcome beloved Sesame Street characters Elmo, Abby, Big Bird, Grover, Oscar the Grouch, Rosita, Bert& Ernie, The Count, and Hoots the Owl to sing classic Sesame Street songs such as “Sing,” “People in Your Neighborhood,” “Rubber Duckie,” and “Sunny Days” alongside the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis in Rose Theater.

On October 18-19 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s The Appel Room, Joe Lovano — tenor titan, and one of the world’s best saxophonists — will debut the Joe Lovano Universal Jazz Ensemble, an all-star octet of innovators and free thinkers who span generations and move fluidly across genres. Dizzy’s Club October 2019 Lineup Announced

Dizzy’s Club honors jazz icons and new innovations with tributes to legends and multiple album release celebrations. Highlights include the week-long Art Blakey Centennial Celebration featuring Ralph Peterson Gen-Next Big Band (October 7), Our Father Who Art Blakey Big Band (October 10), and The Jazz Messengers: The Legacy of Art Blakey led by Valery Ponomarev (October 11–12).Musician, vocalist, and composer Damien Sneed pays homage to his mentor and Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin with fresh renditions of her most cherished hits (October 28). Eric Reed and his quartet present their interpretations of “mainly” Monk tunes(October 25–27).Album releases include pianist and Spanish Harlem Orchestra leader Oscar Hernandez’Love the Moment and percussionist Samuel Torres’Algeria.
