JOSHUA REDMAN RETURNS TO JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER

Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC), welcomes tenor saxophone legend Joshua Redman back to The House of Swing with his acclaimed ensemble and award-winning, New Orleans-based vocalist Gabrielle Cavassa on November 15-16, at 7:30 p.m. in Rose Theater.

For the first time in his renowned career, Redman has arranged beloved works specifically for vocals. Accompanied by his ensemble—Paul Cornish on piano, Philip Norris on double bass, Nazir Ebo on drums and cymbals, and Gabrielle Cavassa on vocals—Redman will treat guests to a memorable evening featuring selections from his recent Blue Note release “where are we” including powerful renditions of “Chicago Blues,” “Streets of Philadelphia,” “Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans?,” and John Coltrane’s “Alabama.” These performances poignantly celebrate the rich complexities of American life.

A free pre-concert discussion is free for ticket holders and takes place prior to each show at 6:30pm hosted by Seton Hawkins, Jazz at Lincoln Center Director of Education Resources and Public Programming.
