IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
All guests must purchase tickets in advance for Dizzy’s Club in-person performances. While a limited amount of walk-up tickets will be available on the night of each performance, we highly recommend purchasing tickets online in advance.
To purchase tickets for Dizzy’s Club in-person performances all guests are required to acknowledge and accept our COVID-19 Liability Wavier. The full waiver can be found here.
Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test may be required upon entering the venue. This will be determined based on the current National, State, and City guidelines at the time of the performance.
Upon completing your purchase you will receive an email with your electronic tickets that must be shown at time of entry. You will also receive an email within 3–5 days of your show date that will contain all of the information you need to know prior to your arrival at Dizzy’s—including health and safety protocols and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s requirements for entry.

HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES
You can expect to experience the same high-quality performances and welcoming jazz community you have come to know and love.
For everyone’s safety, we ask that you please remain home if you are not feeling well.
As public health conditions and national, state, and city guidelines for performing arts and live entertainment change, we will remain flexible, adapting the latest recommendations and health protocols while keeping you informed of any changes to our attendance requirements. Here are some protocols that may be in place when you visit JALC:
- Stay home if you’re sick. It is essential that patrons refrain from attending concerts if they are unwell. We have an exchange and refund policy in place so that patrons may reschedule their tickets if necessary.
- Vaccination. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test may be required upon entering the venue. This will be determined based on the national, state, and city guidelines in effect at the time of the concert.
- Contact information. For contact tracing purposes, contact information may be required of each ticket purchaser.

EXCHANGE & REFUND POLICY
We are looking forward to welcoming you back to live performances in Frederick P. Rose Hall and we know that flexibility is important in ensuring the safety of our audiences, staff, and artists. We understand that your comfort levels may change in the coming months and, as a result, have expanded our exchange and refund policy. Should you feel ill or are no longer comfortable attending a performance for which you have tickets, you may request an exchange or refund, at no cost to you. Deadlines for exchanges and refunds are as follows:
- Refund Requests will be honored on a case-by-case basis.
- Exchange Requests must be received by 12pm the day prior to the event.
- In the case of Dizzy’s Club tickets, only Refund Requests will be honored.

CONDITIONS
For approved refunds, a credit will be issued to the original method of payment the guest used to make the original purchase.
Special offers, discount, and promotion codes may not be applied to exchanged tickets. The ticket exchange will be for the same ticket type and offer that was originally purchased, subject to blackout dates and availability.
Complimentary tickets are not eligible for an exchange or a refund under this policy.
If you exchange into a lesser priced performance or section, the price difference will be absorbed by the box office.
DIZZY’S CLUB LINEUP
Herlin Riley
August 19–22 | 7:30 p.m. & 9:30 p.m.
Dizzy’s re-opens its doors with percussionist and bandleader Herlin Riley, who brings his signature New Orleans-style sounds of celebration and soul for this homecoming engagement. The veteran percussionist and founding Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra member has been the drummer of choice for bandleaders such as Ahmad Jamal and Wynton Marsalis. Riley’s sound is rooted in his home of New Orleans, but his rhythmic vocabulary extends miles beyond any one style or location. During his performances, he will demonstrate his skills as bandleader with a quintet featuring some of the best young talent in New York, including trumpeter Bruce Harris, pianist Emmet Cohen (Sean Mason on 8/19 only), bassist Russell Hall, and saxophonist Godwin Louis.

Trio Da Paz & Friends plays Jobim and other Brazilian Classics
August 24–29 | 7:30 p.m. & 9:30 p.m.
Trio da Paz has a long history at Dizzy’s and the group’s performances are consistently an “unveiling of new improvisational adventures, innovative rhythmic excursions, harmonic flourishes and other musical experiments” (All About Jazz). For this special engagement, the band returns to revive its traditional summer residency at the club. Formed in 1990 by three of Brazil’s most in-demand master musicians—guitarist Romero Lubambo, bassist Nilson Matta, and drummer Duduka da Fonseca—Trio da Paz embodies the infectious spirit of jazz-oriented Brazilian music. Joining them are Maucha Adnet on vocals, Joe Locke on vibraphone, and Harry Allen on tenor saxophone.

Isaiah J. Thompson Quartet

Pianist, bandleader, and composer Isaiah J. Thompson is one of jazz’s young artists on the verge of international stardom. For his return to Dizzy’s, he will lead a quartet of similarly up-and-coming musicians. Thompson, a New Jersey native, has performed with major artists including Wynton Marsalis, Ron Carter, John Pizzarelli, Christian McBride, Steve Turre, and Buster Williams. In 2020, Thompson released his debut album as a leader, Isaiah J. Thompson Plays the Music of Buddy Montgomery, following appearances on Handful of Keys by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Golden Globe award-nominated original motion picture soundtrack for Motherless Brooklyn.

Dave Liebman’s Expansions: 75th Birthday Celebration

NEA Jazz Master David Liebman simultaneously rings in his 75th birthday and the release of his new album at Dizzy’s with his multi-generational band Expansions. During his performances, the tenor and soprano saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator will delve into the deep catalog of the great John Coltrane, Liebman’s biggest inspiration.

Jon Hendricks Centennial Celebration with Kurt Elling, Jazzmeia Horn and Special Guests

Grammy Award winner Kurt Elling is one of the world’s top jazz vocalists, and for these special evenings at Dizzy’s he celebrates the centennial of Jon Hendricks, the legendary vocalist known as the “father of vocalese.” To demonstrate Hendricks’s universal influence, Elling will be joined by Grammy-nominated vocalist Jazzmeia Horn, who cites Hendricks as a lifelong inspiration; special guest vocalist Kevin Burke; and Hendricks’s daughters Aria and Michele Hendricks. In addition to performing, the all-star lineup will offer personal stories about Hendricks to celebrate what would have been this trailblazing artist’s 100th birthday.

Catherine Russell

Grammy Award-winning vocalist Catherine Russell is known for interpreting the American songbook with soul and humor. Her repertoire features an off-the-beaten-path selection of gems from the 1920s through the present, enhanced by her stunning vocal approach and virtuosic swing band. Russell has constantly delivered elegance and unmatched vocal skill at Jazz at Lincoln Center, where she’s led various groups in the Appel Room and Dizzy’s Club, guested with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, and mentored jazz’s next generation as a host for multiple Jazz For Young People concerts.

William Parker Celestial Light House

William Parker has been called “one of the most inventive bassists/leaders since Charles Mingus” and “the creative heir to Jimmy Garrison and Paul Chambers.” Directly influenced by ’60s avant-gardists like Sirone, Henry Grimes, and Alan Silva, Parker brings his special project entitled Celestial Light House to Dizzy’s Club. For this engagement, the New York City bassist, improviser, composer, writer, and educator will lead an all-star group of like-minded improvisers: Dave Burrell (piano), James Brandon Lewis and John Dikeman (tenor sax), Rob Brown (alto sax), Taylor Ho Bynum (trumpet), and Hamid Drake (drums).

Endea Owens & The Cookout

Each evening, millions of viewers see Endea Owens as the bassist in Stay Human, the Late Show with Stephen Colbert house band led by Jon Batiste. Jazz fans worldwide and critics know her as one of the music’s most vibrant and sought-after bassists and educators on the scene today. While she’s performed with a diverse array of jazz, R&B, and pop artists—including Jennifer Holliday, Rhonda and Diana Ross, Jazzmeia Horn, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Steve Turre, H.E.R., and more—Owens continues to dedicate herself to hard-swinging jazz projects. On these special nights at Dizzy’s, Owens leads The Cookout, her own dynamic band that encompasses the spirit, culture, and rhythm of Black American music.

Brandon Goldberg Quintet

Pianist, composer, and bandleader Brandon Goldberg leads his quintet in celebrating his newest release In Good Time at Dizzy’s Club. In Good Time captures Goldberg’s refined, seasoned sensibility through five original compositions and five smartly arranged jazz standards. At Dizzy’s, Goldberg will showcase his pianistic prowess and stunning compositional facility alongside Stacy Dillard (saxophone), Josh Evans (trumpet), Ben Wolfe (bass), and Donald Edwards (drums).

Joey Alexander Trio

Joey Alexander is known as one of the most brilliantly precocious talents in modern jazz. Since making his debut at Jazz at Lincoln Center in 2014, the pianist has become a renowned festival and concert-hall headliner, the youngest musician ever nominated for a Grammy Award in a jazz category, and a media darling, earning profiles on “60 Minutes” and the front page of the New York Times. Through live and recorded performances, Alexander captivates audiences and consistently demonstrates what JazzTimes has called “a deftness of touch, wit, and most important, emotional depth that would seem well beyond his years.” This special, intimate performance at Dizzy’s Club celebrates the triumphant return of Joey Alexander to Jazz at Lincoln Center.

On this performance to celebrate his new record release More Music, master organist Joey DeFrancesco brings out his full arsenal: organ, keyboard, piano, trumpet, and tenor saxophone. More Music offers up 10 new DeFrancesco originals, brought to life with his keyboard virtuosity and skilled trumpet playing. Philadelphia organist and guitarist Lucas Brown and gifted drummer Anwar Marshall complete this touring trio. Of this upcoming performance, Joey D says, “After the longest pause I’ve ever experienced performing live over the past forty-plus years, I’m thrilled to share “More Music” with everyone live from the jazz capital of the world.”

Edmar Castaneda Album Release Celebration

Groundbreaking harpist and composer Edmar Castañeda celebrates his return to live performances and the release of his new album Family, conceived and recorded during the pandemic. The Colombian-born Castañeda says that this recording “is very special for me because it brings all the experiences we had in this difficult time. It represents resilience, strength, faith, love, purpose, unity, peace.” Featuring expressive vocalist (and Castañeda’s wife) Andrea Tierra along with his two children, this will be a show full of joy and celebration.

Pianist and organist Mike LeDonne is a modern keyboard master who in the past few decades has worked with Benny Goodman, Sonny Rollins, Milt Jackson, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Golson, and more. Revered in New York clubs for his organ work, LeDonne delivers red-hot piano lines that match the fiery intensity of his work on the Hammond B-3. Jeremy Pelt Quintet

Jeremy Pelt is one of his generation’s leading bandleaders and trumpeters. He can execute intricate solos with ease and deliver a ballad in a soulfully tasteful manner. On this special engagement, Pelt will perform music from Griot: This Is Important!, his newest release which is part jazz album and part oral history, featuring spoken interludes from fellow artists he has interviewed in recent years. Griot: This Is Important! both honors Pelt’s forebears and sheds light on the meaning of the music and the motivations of those who devote their lives to it. He brings to Dizzy’s the core powerhouse lineup featured on the album to perform these characteristically lyrical, flowing, and stylistically diverse compositions.

Ted Nash has been celebrated as one of the most virtuosic reed instrumentalists in jazz, and his composing and arranging skills have earned him Grammy awards. For this rare intimate performance, Dizzy’s welcomes Nash and his tight-knit working trio featuring Steve Cardenas on guitar and Ben Allison on bass. Nash will demonstrate his uncanny ability to mix freedom with substance, blues with intellect, and risk-taking with clarity.

Stéphane Wrembel’s “Django New Orleans” with special guests Bria Skonberg and Daisy Castro

Making his Dizzy’s Club debut, the French-born, acoustic guitar phenom Stéphane Wrembel is known as one of the foremost masters and global emissaries of Django Reinhardt’s musc. The producer of the annually sold-out “Django A Go-Go” at Town Hall and Carnegie Hall, Wrembel’s brand new project—a bold, energetic meeting between two old and eternal jazz traditions—will feature the lyrical trumpeter/vocalist Bria Skonberg, the virtuosic violinist Daisy Castro, and a handful of New Orleans- and New York-based musicians.
