Drummer extraordinaire Herlin Riley, one of today’s hardest-grooving, most infectiously energetic drummers, returns to Jazz at Lincoln Center for the concert event, Herlin Riley Presents: Sounds of Cuba and New Orleans on Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m., and 9:30 p.m. at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s The Appel Room in Frederick P. Rose Hall, located at Broadway at 60th Street, New York, NY.
There’s always a homecoming energy when Riley, a longtime member of Wynton Marsalis’ small groups and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, returns to the House of Swing. For these special performances featuring classic New Orleans repertoire reimagined and spiced up to include Cuban music traditions, Riley will lead a band comprising Cuban percussion genius Pedrito Martinez, prolific trumpeter (and fellow New Orleanian) Nicholas Payton, New York’s lively, go-to bassist Russell Hall, and special guests Yusa on vocals, Oscar Rossignoli on piano, and spoken word artists Chuck Perkins and Indio Melendez.

The Appel Room ticket prices are $65 and up, dependent upon seating section.
