Rose Theater on November 1-2, 8:00 p.m.

New York, NY
(September 11, 2019) —

In an exclusive concert event, Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates the 50th anniversary of ECM Records, the monumentally influential recording label that continues to set new directions in music and sound.

On November 1-2 at 8:00 p.m., the concert entitled ECM Records at 50 will feature performances by Jack DeJohnette–ECM’s most recorded artist to date – as well as Avishai Cohen, Ravi Coltrane, Bill Frisell, Matthew Garrison, Egberto Gismonti, Larry Grenadier, Vijay Iyer, Ethan Iverson, Anja Lechner, Meredith Monk, Enrico Rava, Wadada Leo Smith, Craig Taborn, and Mark Turner.

ECM Records at 50 will take place in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater, located on Broadway at 60th Street in New York City.

Founded by producer Manfred Eicher in Munich in 1969 and still under Eicher’s artistic leadership, ECM Records has been rightfully called “one of the defining sound-worlds of the past half-century of recorded music” by the New Yorker.

The artists featured on ECM Records at 50 are some of the most respected and ambitious figures in contemporary creative and improvised music, and their close association with the prestigious record label is no coincidence.

More than half of the artists in the featured lineup have appeared as Jazz at Lincoln Center headliners on their own merits, and ECM Records at 50 provides the rare opportunity to witness them perform on one stage. This 50-year anniversary celebration will be a proper salute to a record label that, with an unwavering commitment to quality, has contributed so uniquely and extensively to contemporary music.
