Jazz at Lincoln Center will proudly honor the centennials of four of music’s most important and influential figures who left an indelible legacy of music that has inspired generations of musicians, composers and singers. Jazz 100: The Music of Dizzy, Ella, Mongo & Monk on October 14-15 at 8pm in Rose Theater will celebrate these visionaries while shining a light on some of the most talented, soulful and entertaining artists of today. These celebratory concerts will feature Music Director Danilo Perez, Wycliffe Gordon, Chris Potter, Avishai Cohen, Ben Street, Adam Cruz, Roman Diaz and vocalist Ledisi, recently seen and heard in the award-winning film Selma. These world-class virtuosos of their respective instruments are some of the most recognizable descendants of the Jazz 100 honorees. As a diverse collective, the group will offer an enlightening and original reflection of some of history’s most important artists.
Jazz 100: The Music of Dizzy, Ella, Mongo and Monk will take place in Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, located at Broadway at 60th Street, New York, New York.
