WEBOP, JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER’S JAZZ CLASS FOR CHILDREN, EXPANDS TO HARLEM SCHOOL OF THE ARTS

Winter 2016 Term Open for Enrollment

New York, NY
(November 19, 2015) —

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s popular early childhood education program, WeBop, continues to celebrate its 10th anniversary with expansion to Harlem. Beginning February 2016, WeBop, an interactive jazz class for children ages 8 months to 5 years, will be offered at the Harlem School of the Arts, located at 645 St. Nicholas Ave., New York, NY.

“We are extremely excited to bring Jazz at Lincoln Center’s award-winning WeBop program to the Harlem School of the Arts,” said Dr. Michael Albaugh, Director of Education Operations at Jazz at Lincoln Center. “Harlem School of the Arts is a tremendous organization with a shared cultural belief of the importance of arts and education for the community.”

Celebrated as the “best music class in the city” by New York Family, Webop is led by trained faculty and allows families and caregivers to explore their creativity and musicality through jazz concepts, instruments, and great performers.

For the winter 2016 WeBop term, participants at both sites will explore the “Jazz Family” including the lively personalities and swingin’ music of jazz legends such as Louis Armstrong, Charles Mingus, Ella Fitzgerald, and many more during the eight week term.

Registration for the winter term at Jazz at Lincoln Center and Harlem School of the Arts is now open. WeBop classes take place in the Irene Diamond Education Center at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, located at Broadway at 60th Street, New York, New York and at Harlem School of the Arts located at 645 St. Nicholas Ave, New York, New York.
