Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates summer and jazz music’s rising stars at the organization’s second annual swing! A Summer Cocktail Party on Monday, June 22 from 6:30 – 9:30pm in The Appel Room. Guests are invited to revel in a night of jazz, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a special performance by Sammy Miller and the Congregation Band in what has been called “the sexiest room in New York City.” Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Appel Room is located at Broadway at 60th Street in New York, New York.
As part of the swing! A Summer Cocktail Party festivities, Jazz at Lincoln Center will honor three of jazz music’s rising stars: Melissa Aldana, Ulysses Owens and Bria Skonberg. Demarco Morgan, NBC Atlanta news anchor, will host the benefit event.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the thousands of education programs the organization produces every year. More than two-thirds of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s programming is educational—reaching more than 1,000,000 individuals of all ages and experiences in all 50 states through concerts, webcasting, direct musical instruction and distribution of music scores free of charge.
