Jazz at Lincoln Center invites school-age children and their families to join host Carlos Henriquez and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis as the critically-acclaimed big band performs in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Family Concert: Who is Tito Puente?  This special concert event for families takes place on Saturday, November 22 at 1pm & 3pm at Rose Theater in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s home, Frederick P. Rose Hall, located at Broadway at 60th Street in New York, New York.

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s family concerts spark curiosity and imagination through vivid conversation and lively performances that inspire audiences to dance in their seats.This interactive concert will feature the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra performing the music of New York’s own legendary “King of Latin Jazz,” Tito Puente.  From big band to bossa nova, Puente, a five-time GRAMMY® Award winner and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, covered an extensive range of music over the course of his 50 year career.  Host Carlos Henriquez, who performed with Puente, will teach young audiences why Puente’s music continues to influence a new generation of fans.
Pre-concert activities, including visual arts and music workshops, are free for ticketholders and begin at 12:15pm and 2:15pm.

Ticket prices start at $10.  Tickets can be purchased through jalc.org 24 hours a day or CenterCharge at 212-721-6500, open daily from 10am to 9pm. Tickets can also be purchased at the Jazz at Lincoln Center Box Office, located on Broadway at 60th Street, ground floor. Box Office hours: Monday–Saturday from 10am to 6pm (or 30 minutes past curtain) and Sunday from noon to 6pm (or 30 minutes past curtain).

Jazz at Lincoln Center Family Concert: Who is Tito Puente? will stream live in high-definition audio and video for free to a global audience via jazz.org/live.  The concerts will also be available on Livestream’s mobile and connected TV applications with real-time DVR, chat, photos, and other materials available to fans worldwide.

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2014–15 Concert and Education Season features a season-long journey “through the Americas.”  Through a diverse array of concerts and programs, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 27th season will explore how jazz has both integrated and influenced the rich musical traditions of the Caribbean and North, South, and Central America. This season, Jazz at Lincoln Center also celebrates the 10th anniversary of Frederick P.
