RING IN THE HOLIDAYS WITH THE JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER ORCHESTRA WITH WYNTON MARSALIS BIG BAND HOLIDAYS TOUR FEATURING CÉCILE McLORIN SALVANT
New York, NY – November 6, 2013 – The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant will add soul and swing to the holiday season as they embark on a new U.S. Big Band Holidays Tour beginning on December 5 (see complete tour dates below).
On this first-time tour, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, which recently topped the Big Band Category in Downbeat magazine’s 2013 Reader’s Poll, will perform Swing-era and new big band arrangements of timeless holiday tunes.
Vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant, who Ebony.com called one of “7 Young Players To Watch,” will be featured on soulful renditions of the season’s most festive songs.
The Big Band Holidays Tour will return to Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City on December 12, 13 and 14 at 8pmET, with a matinee on December 14 at 2pmET. These concerts will be available worldwide via free live webcast on new.livestream.com/jazz .
