New York, NY – (October 1, 2013) – Jazz at Lincoln Center and Livestream offer music fans around the world the opportunity to watch Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club’s nearly sold out performances in Rose Theater via live webcast at jazz.org/live and on Livestream.com at new.livestream.com/jazz on October 11-12 at 8pmET. Additionally, fans can tune in on the go via Livestream’s iPhone app or from the comfort of their living rooms with Livestream’s Roku channel to catch Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club anywhere. These performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center are the final stop on the internationally acclaimed Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club’s national tour, which marks the group’s first return to the United States since 2003.

After Buena Vista Social Club, a little known collective of veteran musicians from Cuba, recorded a self-titled album in 1997, they immediately took the world by storm with a series of international tours and ultimately won a GRAMMY® Award for their efforts, deeming the group as one of the primary catalysts in the reemergence of the Latin sound into the musical mainstream.

More than a decade later, Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club – featuring a line-up of 13 musicians from Cuba, each just as dedicated and passionate as their predecessors – continues the pioneering work of the original group with live performances. The current 13-piece iteration features the legacy of founding-generation luminaries like vocalist Omara Portuondo, trumpeter Guajiro Mirabal, laúd player Barbarito Torres, guitarist-vocalist Eliades Ochoa, and trombonist- vocalist Jesus “Aguaje” Ramos, and has been invigorated by recent recruits like vocalists Carlos Calunga and pianist Rolando Luna.

Both concerts will be streamed live for free, globally, in high-definition audio and video. Additionally, the concerts will be available on Livestream.com, as well as Livestream’s mobile and connected TV applications with real-time DVR, chat, photos and video highlights available for fans worldwide.
