New York, New York (May 7, 2013) The critically acclaimed Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis (JLCO) continues to celebrate 25 years of swing with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis 25th Anniversary 2013 Summer World Tour. The tour kicks off with the band’s first time performance at Celebrate Brooklyn onJune 8 in Brooklyn, New York.
After performing in theaters and performing art centers throughout the U.S. – including the kick off of Lincoln Center’s Mid Summer Night Swing 25th anniversary season in New York on June 25 – the world-renowned big band will appear at some of the most storied jazz festivals in Canada and Europe (see complete tour itinerary below).
Along the extensive tour of 12 U.S. cities and 6 countries, the JLCO will perform a landmark 25th anniversary repertoire which includes the music of Chick Corea, Duke Ellington, the Best of Blue Note, and more.
The first leg of the JLCO’s 25th anniversary tour earned critical acclaim. Allaboutjazz.com said, “[The JLCO is] without a doubt, the best jazz orchestra in the world.
