THE BLUES: ALVIN YOUNGBLOOD HART
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS COREY HARRIS & PHIL WIGGINS
THE ALLEN ROOM
NOVEMBER 9-10
Who/What/When:
Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates its 25th Anniversary season acknowledging the blues, the roots of jazz, with Grammy®-winning guitarist Alvin Youngblood Hart in The Allen Room on November 9th and 10th. Hart will be joined by fellow guitarist Corey Harris and harmonica player Phil Wiggins for two nights of acoustic blues. Hart’s music is often called “country blues,” but he is quick to challenge the so-called blues purists with his “no barriers” approach. He has been praised by everyone from Bob Dylan to Eric Clapton. His mentor, Taj Mahal, says “The boy has got thunder in his hands.”
