JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER ANNOUNCES
NEW MEMBERS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Jazz at Lincoln Center, the not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to expanding audiences for jazz, today announced the appointment of three new members to its board of directors. Valentino D. Carlotti, Larry Gagosian and Adam R. Rose join the board of directors as the organization enters its next phase of growth and celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Valentino D. Carlotti is a Partner and head of the Securities Division Institutional Client Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co., which is comprised of senior professionals responsible for managing institutional client relationships across the Securities Division. Prior to assuming this role, he served as president of the Goldman Sachs Brazil Bank, managing the Sao Paulo office firmwide since 2007 after having had senior responsibilities within Investment Banking and Sales & Trading over the course of his career. Carlotti also serves as a board member of American Ballet Theatre, The Studio Museum in Harlem, Prep for Prep, and The Boys Club of New York. Carlotti earned a BA from Yale University and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
Larry Gagosian opened a gallery in Los Angeles specializing in modern and contemporary art in 1980. Five years later he expanded to New York, opening a gallery in Chelsea with an exhibition of key works from the renowned Pop art collection of Emily and Burton Tremaine. Within twenty years he expanded Gagosian Gallery into a dynamic global network, currently maintaining twelve architect-designed exhibition spaces in eight cities, including New York, Los Angeles, London, Rome, Athens, Paris, Geneva, and Hong Kong. At the forefront of the international art market, Gagosian Gallery presents an unparalleled program of museum-quality exhibitions by modern and contemporary artists, accompanied by beautifully designed, scholarly catalogues and monographs. Gagosian is a benefactor of major museums and arts organizations worldwide, and has provided instrumental support for many important institutional exhibitions and artist projects. In 2010 he was awarded the Rome Prize for Visual Arts by the American Academy in Rome and made Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur by the French government.
Adam R. Rose is Co-President of Rose Associates, a third generation real estate development and management firm headquartered in New York and active for more than 85 years. The managed portfolio exceeds 27,000 apartments. He obtained a B.A. from Yale University and is a leading expert on the design, construction, leasing, sales and management of high-rise apartment buildings. Rose’s career spans 30 years and includes leadership on industry organizations including his continuing service on the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of New York (Executive Committee). He also serves on the board of the Citizens Budget Commission, the Boards of the New York Botanical Garden and the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Miami. Other organizations with which he is involved include the Jacob Burns Film Center, (where he has funded the Jazz Film Series for several years), Lincoln Center Theatre, The High Line, WBGO, and the Park Avenue Armory.
