JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER ORCHESTRA DEMONSTRATES VIRTUOSITY MASTERY IN FINAL ROSE THEATER CONCERTS OF JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER’S 2024–25 SEASON

New York, NY
(May 16, 2025) —

Jazz at Lincoln Center closes out a banner 2024-25 season and the 20th anniversary of the organization’s home, Frederick P. Rose Hall, also known as the House of Swing, with two concerts featuring the peerless Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO).

The final season concerts in Rose Theater, The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra Plays the ’70s on May 29-31 and Best of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis on June 13-14, showcase the resident orchestra’s virtuosity, band members’ mastery of composition, and the organization’s philosophy, “Timeless is Modern.”

On May 29-31, 2025, the JLCO takes the Rose Theater stage in The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra Plays the ’70s, a special concert event offering a bold musical journey through one of the most dynamic decades in music history. Under the direction of Grammy Award-winning saxophonist and former JLCO member Ted Nash, the orchestra reimagines the iconic sounds of the 1970s with vibrant new arrangements that celebrate the decade’s fearless creativity. Selections may include fresh takes on songs by Stevie Wonder, Wayne Shorter, McCoy Tyner, Joe Zawinul, Toshiko Akiyoshi, and more arranged by members of the JLCO.

The program also features special guest appearances by legendary saxophonist Charles McPherson and trumpeter Tom Harrell, culminating in an evening that honors the spirit of musical revolution. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit jazz.org/70s.

The 2024-25 season concludes in spectacular fashion on June 13–14, 2025 with Best of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. Music directed by Wynton Marsalis, this high-energy finale showcases the full force of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in a celebration of swing, soul, and the ensemble’s unparalleled versatility. This performance event highlights audience favorites and acclaimed works and originals by longtime members of the JLCO, including Wynton Marsalis, Chris Crenshaw, Vincent Gardner, Carlos Henriquez, Sherman Irby, Ted Nash, and Marcus Printup and serves as a joyful sendoff into summer.
